Maika's Litter (2 to 5 Weeks of Age)

HOME INTRO PHOTOS TRAINING E-MAIL

A box of happy, healthy puppies! Mutig's litter at 2 weeks of age. We brought the little guys in because we wormed 7 and had no clue who we'd forgotten. At two weeks they are already pretty mobile, so we boxed them and brought them into the house for closer inspection. Long story short we found the pup that had escaped worming, and three photos later the litter was back with Mutig happily nursing. :)
The whole litter on the floor of the house. They're 2 weeks old again here, and I believe Maika is the dark puppy furthest to the left (noticing a trend yet?)
A similar shot to the one above, again at 2 weeks of age. I think Maika is the dark puppy second in from the left in the "mass" of puppies near the top of the photo.
Here is the litter again at exactly 3 weeks of age. They are moving around quite a lot now, and their little personalities are starting to develop. I'm trying to get to know all of the puppies in the litter, particularly all the females, but I'm just so taken with this dark female in the top left corner.
Another shot of the litter at 3 weeks of age.
A close-up of the little girl I am falling more in love with every week. Is it 100% certain that I'm bringing her home? Well if the trend continues, I think so. Isn't she just the most adorable little "fatty" you've ever laid eyes on?! :) Don't laugh, but in this photo, she kinda reminds me of a little meerkat.
Here's Mutig's beautiful litter at just about 4 weeks of age. The photo was taken on Friday, June 13, 2003. It was such a drab, rainy day, so the photo turned out pretty okay, considering. I think Maika is the dark puppy in the center of the picture, but it may not be (there are a couple dark pups and I tend to get them mixed up).
Here's another photo of Mutig's litter at about 4 weeks of age. I'm sure that Maika is either the dark pup in the back, or the dark pup eating out of the dish.
Here are two of the pups, again at almost 4 weeks of age. I have no idea which pups these are, but I thought it was an adorable shot. :)
Here's a great shot of Mutig nursing her puppies. This photo was taken the same day as the ones above (Friday the 13th) making them almost 4 weeks old. Man, does the litter ever drain poor Mutig! She's very welcoming of her frequent time away from them by this point! :)
Here's another shot of Mutig nursing the pups. If they're not sleeping, they're nursing. They get their soaked kibble twice a day now too.
Here's little Maika on the very day she turns 4 weeks old. Look at that pink tongue! :) And the ear-up thing is just too adorable. She's still so FAT it is amazing that she will eventually grow into a sleek adult.
Maika at 4 weeks. I believe here she was staring intently at a horsefly.
Maika again at 4 weeks of age.
Four of the 8 puppies at 5 weeks of age. I have no clue which pups are which, so it will have to suffice just saying that Maika is not in this photo.
Here's the whole litter, but Maika is really hard to see as her face is hidden. She's at the bottom right. Maika's sister, Sierra is the pup in the front (I believe) with her paw through the fence, and Maika's brother, Nitro, is the handsome puppy at the top left.
Three of the puppies, again at 5 weeks of age. I think that is Maika in the back, turning away, but it could also be Nitro.
Five of the pups at 5 weeks of age. I don't know who they all are, but I know that Maika is the one with her paw in the water bucket, while her brother Nitro is sitting at the top left.
The 5-week-old pups around the water bucket again... Maika is on the right, and Nitro is beside her.
Supper time! Five of the pups eating their soaked kibble.
Another shot during supper time. I don't know who is who here, but Maika is the second puppy in from the left, laying down.
One last supper time shot of the litter at 5 weeks of age. I don't know who's who here, but I think Maika is at the left of this photo. I could be mistaken, as the pups look so different from one shot to the next, dependant upon lighting mostly.
a lovely head-shot of Maika on the front lawn at 5 weeks of age. This photo was a challenge to get, since she kept running back to her littermates before I could press the shutter release button!
A close-up of Maika in the puppy pen at 5 weeks of age.
A decent profile my puppy during feeding time. She isn't much of a chow hound, but I imagine she does eat sometimes because she's not a small puppy!
Another profile of Maika at 5 weeks of age, during feeding time.
