My Comments

I read this book cover-to-cover more than once already because it is such an easy, pleasurable read. This book is full of great information that anyone with an interest in a Personal Protection Service Dog (PPSD) should consider. The author has infused the pages with anecdotal stories that will make you laugh, and maybe even make you cry. Mike Harlow's training style is similar to that of the late Bill Koehler, and I figure, if a training method works, why change it? This book contains very simplified versions of some of the exercises found in Koehler's book, The Koehler Method of Dog Training. There is also an interesting section on breed suitability that anyone considering a puppy for a PPSD should read and then read again. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good weekend read.
